Saint-Priest-les-Fougères is situated in the heart of the french countryside and is perfect for walking or cycling.
The village boasts an excellent Boulangerie which conveniently opens early for the essential breakfast croissants and fresh bread. In fact, the Boulangerie also sells a variety of other food items and is more properly described as our village shop.
It also has a Bar, incorporating a Tabac and Presse, supplying drinks, tobacco, magazines, newspapers, postcards, sweets and other miscellaneous goods.
We also have our own Post Office, for posting the obligatory holiday postcards.
There is also a garage in the village, handy if you are ever caught short fuel-wise or need some repair work done. Michel, the owner, also enjoys a reputation for being an expert puncture repairer!
Nearby la Coquille, just three kilometres away, has a full complement of shops and restaurants, including two supermarkets, a bank (equipped with a ATM), a boucherie, a patisserie/chocolatier, a pizzeria, a creperie and a very good quality restaurant.
Further afield, the city of Limoges to the north, is a must-see, with it's plethora of porcelain outlets as well as chic fashion shops, all within a reasonably sized area. Turning south, the city of Périgueux is also well worth a visit, especially on market days. In fact, as a general rule, all towns are worth visiting on market days!
