Please ensure you have Holiday Insurance
Jan & Bill Parker took over Maison de la Famille in November 2002. We moved here from Riseley, a small village in north Bedfordshire, to start a new life here in the Dordogne. We met whilst living in Cranfield, where Bill's family hail from and for which we both maintain fond memories and friendships. We're looking forward to welcoming all our new guests in the forthcoming seasons.
Jan, very proud of her Cornish roots, has spent all her working life in Tourism (mainly, flying around the world with Monarch Airlines). She has immense experience of the holiday industry and the skills she has gained over the years make owning and running holiday gîtes an enjoyable challenge. Her fortes are languages and music.
Bill, on the other hand, has very few roots, being an Army Brat. He has lived abroad almost as much as he has lived in the UK. Most of his working life has been in the IT sector. Hobbies have included caving, skydiving and flying light aircraft but currently he spends as much time as he can riding (or polishing!) his beloved BMW motorcycle. Read more on his views of Life, the Universe and Everything at Thoughts of Chairman Bill if you wish.
Both are strictly forbidden from the garden and pool areas, which is reserved for the pleasure and enjoyment of you, our guests (OK, I admit it, we're having difficulty explaining this concept to our dogs, but my theory is that there is nothing a dog can't learn if you apply a sufficient amount of electricity! )
We all look forward to meeting you and will do all we can to ensure you have a happy, relaxed and enjoyable holiday.
